Humans in Ileosa usually don’t know what to do with themselves. Pretty much always being transported to this world against their will. Considering everything that was established previously about Ileosa, it makes sense that humans would immediately go into survival mode, being left with nothing and having to make that something for themselves.
They move into abandoned homes, build their own forts, gather resources by any means their morality allows, mingle either with locals or seek out other humans and build their own communities. All while the presence of distinctly colored ring shaped circles on their bodies looms in their minds.
Humans have not been transported here long enough for there to be a clear knowledge in that world about these circles and their purpose. Most humans figure that circles disappear for good deeds, and if you get rid of them you get to go home. And in turn that must mean the circles come from you doing something bad. That is really the most somewhat-study based information a common person can access off the bat from talking to more smarter locals. Most locals are not too interested in human problems, as the circles are exclusive to humans.
Humans can go down many paths, often slipping into past dynamics and environments akin to their old lives. If they can reclaim something they had before, they do. If they can claim more than they could before, they do. If they can’t, they don’t.
Almost all humans become neurotic about their circles in some way, trying to attach meaning and reasoning to them, some sort of logic, they scrape at them as the closest thing to their chance of going home. Humans can take these circles very personally, as they are some sort of reflections of themselves displayed to the world. They can fall into denial, obsession, depression, anger, bargaining. They can see these circles as as a mark from god for their sins or they can start assuming they were punished like this for some wrong thing they have done in the past.
Initially humans do not fully understand how long they are going to spend in Ileosa, thinking it is a 1 day thing, a dream maybe, a weird trip mayhaps.
The reality is that humans do not understand their own conditions as well as they think they do and take years to get rid of their circles. And some humans never do, some humans double down, some humans dig deeper and further from the goal post, living out the rest of their destructive lives in this stranger world, or maybe they accept it as their final home.
