Ragals

Although made to reside in the coldest parts of Ileosa, Ragals at their core are very warm people. They have large tight knit families and feel a strong loyalty to their community. There is a prevalent need to belong to the pack and they thrive in numbers.

Due to reaccuring struggles to feed themselves, Ragals find great value in food. One of the main ways Ragals express love for eachother is by sharing a meal and inviting friends to dinner. Although they usually dont have a lot they own, they still feel like they have a lot to share. A plump Ragal is seen as a healthy and strong Ragal, therefore desirable.

What Ragals also value is strength. Might makes right, as most believe. Ragals are prone to solving problems physically and head into conflict head first. Therefore they are seen as quite brutish and their intelligence often gets underestimated. But this valueing of strength often also leads to the runts of the litter being disregarded or neglected, as they cannot keep up with their heavy laborous way of life. Although Ragals care deeply, those who cannot keep up with certain expectations often end up having little care spared for them.

Regarding some physical details- Ragals have litters of children, who, up until puberty, are incredbly small. Once they reach their teenage years they gain a very intense growth spurt. Ragals are some of the biggest species in Ileosa, domineering over most other species both in height and width. In the cold climates, their thin layer of fur is a variation of grey. But those Ragals that manage to make their way into the warm areas of Ileosa, eventually start shedding their coats and replacing them with vibrant patterned ones.

Ragals can withstand cold climates just fine with their fur alone, but, atleast in Raga, they choose to wear additional furs to demonstrate their wealth, hunting achievements or display passed down family heirlooms. Due to their increasing reliance on mining and fishing for resources- gemstones, metals and nautical styles are also coming into fashion. It is common for a Ragal to wear rings, have piercings or other accessories typically seen as fancy in other parts of Ileosa where mining is not as developed as it is in Raga.
